About Rika Mostert:
She is passionate about helping women discover, embrace, and love their unique colourful designs and equipping them to design the life God dreams for them. Since she has grown from a shy, insecure and cautious young woman into the person she is now, she has experienced first-hand that living wholeheartedly, with courage and joy is not only fabulously possible but also non-negotiable.
She believes that we are designed BY grace and FOR grace as much as we are designed for love and belonging. We each have our own inherent design. We are all gifted by grace and our gifting has its unique, beautiful, life-giving language that is our gift to the world. Her greatest joy is supporting women in finding their ‘voice’ and expressing their grace language – the language of their hearts.
She has spent the last few years delving deeper into the revelation of Grace, combining that with design, neuroscience, growth science and Biblical truths to find her own unique message and unique way of coaching to guide and support women towards their wholeness – her own “grace language” so to speak. Hence the term ‘Grace coach’ for her not-so-ordinary coaching. Practicing courage, she took the leap into this unknown and started ‘Live by Design’ in 2019. She offers in-person and online coaching, tailor-made workshops & conferences, and Inspirational talks (with a practical twist of course).
Yes, “Inspirational” – Inspiration is defined as an act of influencing people mentally, emotionally and spiritually to do something creative. We are co-creators with God – designing our lives to collectively reflect the glory of His grace by living FROM, WITHIN & BY Devine design.
She created a 12-week, in-depth self-esteem course, called LIVE BRAVE. This is a 12-week course and a hybrid of online and live in-person training & support, hosted on a platform run by LifeXchange (an NPO that revolutionized mentorship training). She has been working with them as a training facilitator for the last 4 years.
Using these 2 avenues, she thrives when she can empower women to live radiantly and in full colour!
A bit more background:
Rika was raised by loving parents as the 2nd of 4 children. She was definitely the girly girl of the 3 sisters and thriving within the space of girly things – Ballet, books, dancing, dresses, makeup and modelling – what more could a girl want?
After she matriculated, she went on to study teaching and obtained her HED teacher’s diploma. During this time, she also married the man of her heart at age 21. They are still happily married and have two wonderfully unique kids. Being married to an outdoorsy, practical guy, also brought out a different side of this girly girl and she found that she also loves farm life, weird pets and bugs!
After teaching for a short while, she also tried her hand at direct selling beauty products. Her desire to make a difference in the lives of women led her to become an internationally qualified image consultant through Colour Me Beautiful in 2001. And for years that was enough.
But dreams grow as people grow and after a lot of personal growth and a big move to the Kalahari (her desert season), she naturally wanted to do more. She found her purpose in becoming an accredited mentor in 2018 and went on to life coaching and starting Live by Design in 2019. This afforded her the privilege of making a deeper impact through individual coaching, workshops and talks. She has co-created and hosted women’s conferences. She has had the privilege of being invited as the keynote speaker for quite a few charity events in the Northern and Western Cape and she has also been a guest speaker at numerous women’s events in the past 20 years.
She has been the patroness for the APD in Upington for 3 years (Association for persons living with disabilities) and was also actively involved in a few community projects.
She enjoyed doing regular podcasts and interviews for the local radio station as well.
In early 2022 they moved back to the Western Cape and now live in the scenic area of Betty’s Bay where she can enjoy the steadfastness of the mountains and the many faces of the ocean.
A few fun facts:
Rika is always writing in her head and transcribing everything she sees and experiences into words. She has been a ‘secret writer’ and just used it to express herself, but lately, she enjoys using it more. She is fiddling with a draft and is also writing blogs and articles.
She competed in the Mrs. Upington pageant in 2019, achieving 3rd place. A fun, but rewarding thing to do to challenge herself, meet new people and enlarge her circle of influence, giving her a platform to inspire and equip more women.
She is a deep thinker and enjoys finding hidden truths. She is a forever-student with a reading/learning list of almost 80 books and a course or 3 she still wants to take on.
